Para dar soporte a las aplicaciones de geolocalizaci\u00f3n cr\u00edticas y mejorar el rendimiento y la integridad de las se\u00f1ales <\/p>\n

Thales Alenia Space, la sociedad conjunta entre Thales (67 %) y Leonardo (33 %), ha sido seleccionada por la Agencia Espacial Europea (ESA) en el marco del programa Horizonte 2020 para un nuevo contrato relativo al dise\u00f1o y desarrollo de un prototipo de estaci\u00f3n terrena de nueva generaci\u00f3n llamada NLES-Next (Navigation Land Earth Station), destinada al sistema europeo de navegaci\u00f3n por sat\u00e9lite EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service). <\/p>\n

NLES es la estaci\u00f3n de enlace ascendente de EGNOS, cuya tarea consiste en generar las se\u00f1ales en el espacio (SiS – Signal in Space) que utiliza el sistema de navegaci\u00f3n para dar soporte a aplicaciones de geolocalizaci\u00f3n cr\u00edticas como la navegaci\u00f3n a\u00e9rea o el aterrizaje de las aeronaves. Este componente contribuye de manera esencial al buen desempe\u00f1o general de EGNOS. <\/p>\n

Las aplicaciones de geolocalizaci\u00f3n que pueden beneficiarse de las capacidades de EGNOS constituyen un \u00e1mbito en plena ebullici\u00f3n, en el que la modernizaci\u00f3n de las estaciones NLES es un motor importante.<\/p>\n

Mediante este contrato, Thales Alenia Space fabricar\u00e1 un prototipo NLES de nueva generaci\u00f3n que combine modularidad, flexibilidad, adaptabilidad y un alto grado de segregaci\u00f3n para posibilitar la inclusi\u00f3n progresiva de nuevos servicios como la autenticaci\u00f3n de datos EGNOS o la integridad del Servicio de Alta Precisi\u00f3n (HAS). Asimismo, ser\u00e1 mucho m\u00e1s robusto en materia de ciberseguridad y se\u00f1ales SiS para hacer frente a nuevos tipos de amenazas, ampliando de esta manera el potencial del sistema en su conjunto para facilitar una amplia gama de aplicaciones que van de la aviaci\u00f3n civil al transporte ferroviario, mar\u00edtimo o de carreteras, pasando por los servicios de seguridad para la vida (\u201cSafety of Life\u201d o SoL) y los servicios abiertos (no-SoL). <\/p>\n

Acerca de EGNOS <\/p>\n

EGNOS, un programa emblem\u00e1tico de la Uni\u00f3n Europea, es un sistema europeo de navegaci\u00f3n por sat\u00e9lite dise\u00f1ado para mejorar las se\u00f1ales de posicionamiento recibidas por GPS (Global Positioning System). Desarrollado por Thales Alenia Space como contratista principal, EGNOS se implement\u00f3 por primera vez en 2005 y comenz\u00f3 a operar como servicio abierto en 2009.
